Luigi Cabrini, Chair of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), was once again recognized for his outstanding leadership in promoting sustainable tourism at the IV Ibero-American Forum on Sustainable Tourism, TuriSOS2025.
The forum took place on May 9th at the Ateneo de Málaga, gathering more than 43 international speakers from over 15 countries, including Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Finland, Italy, Mexico, Colombia, Panama, Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Brazil, and Argentina. Experts, senior executives, and institutional representatives from Ibero-America and Northern Europe came together to share insights and foster dialogue on the future of the tourism sector.
This sixth edition of TuriSOS focused on key topics such as artificial intelligence, innovation and technology, the evolution of gastronomy, sports tourism, the challenges of sustainable tourism, digitalization and the transformation of SMEs, art and culture, astrotourism, responsible communication, entrepreneurship and success stories, regenerative tourism, and the latest developments in climate change among others.
In his masterclass titled “Challenges for Sustainable Tourism Today,” Luigi Cabrini shared his expertise and vision for building a more responsible, resilient, and future-ready tourism industry, emphasizing the importance of the GSTC Standards, the global standards for sustainability in travel and tourism.

During the event, the II Recognitions of the 50 + 1 Inspirational Leaders of Europe – LATAM were presented, with Mr. Luigi Cabrini among the distinguished awardees for the second consecutive year.

The Ibero-American Forum on Sustainable Tourism (#TuriSOS) was created during the pandemic to serve as a platform for promoting tourism, culture, gastronomy, and innovation between Andalucía, Spain, other European countries, and Latin America.
