The Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) will partner with WTM London to deliver a Masterclass titled “Cutting Through the Noise: Your Step-by-Step to Credible Sustainability Success” on the 5th of November, during WTM London 2025 in the ICC Maritime Suites from 10:00h to 12:00h.
Led by Dr. Mihee Kang, GSTC Chief Assurance Officer, and Michelle Janke, GSTC Trainer, this interactive workshop will explore the GSTC Standards portfolio, which now covers hotels, tour operators, destinations, MICE, attractions, and F&B providers. GSTC experts will also explain ISO-aligned assurance frameworks to help the tourism industry choose credible and rigorous certification programs.
The masterclass session is now bookable via WTM’s online registration page here.
Early registration for the masterclass session is encouraged as places are limited. By joining this masterclass, participants will gain valuable knowledge and also connect with peers who face similar challenges and opportunities in the transition towards more sustainable practices. The session will combine practical guidance with strategic insights, ensuring that attendees leave with actionable knowledge they can apply immediately within their organizations.
Hemal Jain, General Manager of the Mandarin Oriental London, will share the hotel’s journey toward becoming a GSTC-certified property, offering valuable insights into the process, challenges, and benefits of achieving sustainability certification. Mandarin Oriental Group has GSTC-Commited status. GSTC-Committed refers to an organization’s pledge to fully implement the GSTC Standards (known previously as GSTC Criteria) in its policy and operational guidelines.
“We’re looking forward to showing how the GSTC Standards help tourism businesses take real and credible steps toward sustainability. This masterclass will give participants a clear understanding of the pathway to follow,” said Dr. Kang.
“I am delighted to join this masterclass, which will bring together tourism professionals who will gain practical insights and leave with stronger tools to embed meaningful change in their workplace, » said Mrs. Janke.
