The Yuluca Alliance (AYLAC) will be present at WTM Latin America 2026, taking place from April 14-16, 2026, in São Paulo, Brazil.
During the event, Jorge Moller, GSTC Latin America & Caribbean Program Director, will participate in the session “Sustainable Management and Certification: Pathways for Implementing the GSTC Standards in Latin America and the Caribbean.”
The event will bring together diverse stakeholders across the tourism industry, such as professionals from travel agencies, tour operators, accommodation providers, airlines, cruises, luxury tourism, or travel technology. In its most recent edition, WTM Latin America welcomed over 32,000 industry professionals, 837 exhibitors from 49 countries, and featured 54 conferences and seminars.
In his session, Mr. Moller will share updates on the progress of the Yuluca Alliance (AYLAC), a Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) initiative aimed at advancing sustainable tourism across Latin America and the Caribbean.
“WTM Latin America is a great platform for tourism stakeholders to come together and discuss the next steps for sustainability in the region. We cannot do this without collaboration among different stakeholders. This is what AYLAC represents: being part of something bigger and working together to protect our natural heritage and strengthen community-focused sustainable tourism,” said Jorge Moller, GSTC Latin America & Caribbean Program Director.
The Yuluca Alliance was officially launched in September 2024, following the First GSTC Latin American and Caribbean Summit, held in Santa Marta, Colombia, in May 2024. The Alliance continued to strengthen its collaboration with participating members during the GSTC Global Conference 2025, held in Fiji, where Mr. Moller took part as a panelist in the session “Connecting Global Partners with Local Community Development,” and reflected on the meaning of community, describing it as both vast and powerful, yet inherently fragile and in need of continuous care. He highlighted the importance of developing shared strategies and common action plans to anticipate challenges and collectively address potential threats.
Encouraged by the GSTC, the AYLAC brings together countries from across the region under a common vision to promote sustainable tourism practices.
